| Q. |
Are German Shepherds good family
dogs? |
| A. |
Due to their tolerant nature German
Shepherds make excellent pets for children and provide for a great sense of
security with their natural ability to protect. With proper training they are
even a more effective and imposing guard dog. Because of their inherent
characteristic to protect, they are wonderful guardians and companions for the
elderly too. |
| Q. |
Do they require special care? |
| A. |
Wonderfully, they can adapt quickly to any
situation or climate due to their quick learning. As long as you provide your
German shepherd with love, a healthy diet, and an annual check at the
veterinarian you should have no problems at all. |
| Q. |
What is the difference between European and
American German shepherds? |
| A. |
One of the most important differences
between the two German shepherds is that the European German shepherds have a
less percentage of hip dysplasia than their American counterparts. Because of
this is one of the most prevalent diseases in the shepherd and affects their
quality of life, many people seek out a shepherd from Europe. Another
difference is that the regulators of breeding in Europe called the FCI places
stricter controls on breeders then the AKC. All dams must be licensed to breed
and all studs must be shown at least twice before they are certified to stud.
All the dogs are tattooed and there can be no mistake of their pedigree.
Because of this the shepherds maintain their stable temperaments and correct
body structure and angulations that are true to the breed. The end result is a
higher quality German shepherd. |

| Q. |
Is a deposit necessary to purchase a German Shepherd Puppy / Adult? |
| A. |
Yes, we do require a deposit of $500.00 on all puppies, which is non-refundable. However we realize that circumstances no under our control do change. For these circumstances we will hold your deposit and apply it to a future purchase of a puppy or trained adult. Trained German Shepherd imported adults require a one third deposit before importing. This too is not refundable. However if the German Shepherd adult does not pass the tests required (which you will advise us on in advance) we would take the German Shepherd back and replace it with another of equal value. |
