Jake and his handler Todd are graduated
from the New Jersey State Police Explosives
Detection K9 School on Friday. I was
told by the instructors that they
did an outstanding job. Jake is said
to have tremendous drive and is always
excited to work. This is our second
K9 purchase from K9 Union and we couldn't
be happier with him. He has worked
out just as well as Pyro, our first
purchase back in September 2004. Todd
and Jake have formed a tight bond
and Jake is also great around Todd's
young children. Jake will be hitting
the streets next week for a few months
and then going to patrol school in
the fall. We are sure that with his
outstanding drive and motivation,
he'll excel in the patrol class as
well. When we purchase another K9,
you'll be the first person we call.

Hubert,
I thought I'd give you and update
on how the last K9 we bought is doing.
Jake (Kier) is very impressive according
to the instructors. They say that
Jake is "a nut" with a lot
of drive; he goes crazy for the towel
and is doing an incredible job with
his searches. He's a perfect match
for his handler who is a little bit
"nuts" himself. Jake and
the handler seem to get each other
pumped up when it's time to work.
The only problem we have with Jake
is that he gets so excited that he
ends up shitting everywhere he goes,
even in the buildings he has to search,
but nobody cares about that because
he works so well. He's due to graduate
on May 20th and will most likely start
patrol school in September. Pyro (Rex)starts
patrol school on Monday; I'll give
you updates on him as he progresses.
We may be looking for a dual purpose
Narcotic/Patrol dog in the fall, I'll
let you know more as it gets closer.

I spoke with other K-9 officers and
asked for a reference from them. That
led me to K-9 Union Importers. After

in his socialization skills and his
